Featured Mentor: Catherine browder

We are excited to announce our featured mentor of the week: Catherine Browder! A fiction writer and playwright, Catherine Browder has seen her work presented regionally and in NYC. She's published stories in many great literary journals and six collections of stories/novellas and solo works, as well as a feuillet. She celebrated the publication of her first novel, The Manning Girl in November, 2023.

Catherine is excited about the prospect of “being able to answer questions for fledgling writers.” She recalled, “I know how many questions I had early on, so I'm sure a mentee will have a bundle of queries...and even fears. Putting fears to rest, and also letting new writers free themselves from some of those sacred cows of writing that unfortunately get passed down that are not quite true.”

When asked about a favorite book she read recently, Catherine advocated for “any book by the Irish writers Donal Ryan or Claire Keegan–such as Keegan's short novels Foster or Small Things Like These."
